Syringa and Mtn Home

The week opened up against Syringa.  The girls showed little rust from the Thanksgiving holiday and got out to an early lead and never looked back.  The ball moved well and the girls had an A-HA moment as they ran the offense to near perfection in the second half.  We had outstanding play from everyone.  With Matti being out sick, and adding Hayley to the team we had to go with some different line-ups and play some different positions, but the girls stepped up and played well.  Although Nire didn't score, she held down the middle and protected the basket very well.  Lily, Megan, Torrie and Kelly stepped up to shoulder the scoring burden with 21 of the teams 32 points.  Lizzy went down early with and ankle sprain but came back strong on Wednesday(more on that in a minute).  Katherine and Katie played out of their normal positions most of the game but really came up big at key times to help us pull away.  Hayley got her first bucket late in the fourth quarter and without the practice time with the team and learning on the fly, she did an awsome job her first time out. Welcome to the team.

Against Mountain Home, the girls again shot out to an early lead and never looked back. Matti came back from the flu, Nire was out with the flu (RATS!!!!)  Her, and Katie manned the inside for us and kept the Tigers from getting anything close to the basket.  Lily battled foul trouble all night but was able to contribute 6 points early.  Lizzy was called on to help us in a bind...sore ankle and all and did a great job of getting us into the offense and setting the table for a few easy buckets to help us pull away.  Way to tough it out !!  Megan and Kelly did a great job tonight being more agressive and covering their teammates backs when they overextended themselves.  A lot of improvement over the week for both of them...Keep it up!!  Torrie got her first start tonight and played extremely well.  Jumping into passing lanes and being in the right spots on offense helped keep the wheels turning.  Now for Katherine.....GREAT GAME...although you only had 6 points, your total floor game was the best of the season.  Continue to be aggressive and good things will keep happening.  Along with her 6 points she had a lot of steals on the press, and at least 15 rebounds....AWESOME...

A great week so far with another game tonight vs. Anser Charter...lets get after it!  7 and 1 looking to go 8 and 1 tonight.
